Danish Artist Presents Elvis Paintings to US Ambassador

Danish artist Syzett Pia Koldbech presented two collage paintings depicting Elvis Presley throughout his career to Ambassador Cain on December 13.   The paintings  are a combination of collage, oil, and acrylic.  Syzett Pia Koldbech and her brother Christian Koldbech are longtime fans of Elvis Presley and wanted to share their appreciation for this American cultural icon with the Ambassador.  At the presentation, Ambassador Cain noted the strong feelings many Danes have for Elvis Presley, something which has been underlined at several embassy events over the past year.  Earlier this year, Charles Reagan Wilson of the University of Mississippi's Center for the Study of Southern Culture spoke on  Southern religion and pop culture – including Elvis Presley and his faith.
