US Embassy Seal

The U.S. Ambassador to Denmark is the personal representative of the President, and oversees the Embassy and all the federal departments and agencies represented within it.

Representatives from the State Department and a number of other U.S. government departments and agencies manage portfolios concerning economic, commercial and agricultural affairs, consular and immigration issues, customs, transportation, and law enforcement activities, as well as political and military relations, and public affairs.

U.S. Mission to Denmark

This Embassy Mission Statement articulates the shared commitment of everyone at this Embassy and all agencies of the Federal Government represented here. The statement may appear general in its tone, yet it is sweeping in its scope and reflects the role and responsibility each of us has, every day we are here, to promote American values and advance America's interests. It reflects the obligation we owe to the American people and incorporates the policy priorities of our President. It demonstrates the importance we place on working with our partners in Denmark and beyond to fight terror and the enemies of human dignity, advance our shared political and humanitarian goals, and assist American citizens and businesses as they pursue their charitable and commercial interests. This Mission Statement is the result of input from everyone at this Embassy. Together, we pledge ourselves to its pursuit.

Mission Statement

At Embassy Copenhagen we will work with our Danish and regional partners to initiate and pursue innovative, sustainable means to:

  • Ensure global security,
  • Promote human liberty where it is threatened,
  • Relieve human suffering worldwide, and
  • Advance the prosperity and safety of Americans at home and abroad.
