Holidays

The U.S. Embassy in Copenhagen observes U.S. holidays as well as Danish holidays. If a holiday is on a Saturday or Sunday the Embassy observes the holiday on the nearest week day. This means that the Embassy is closed on the following days in 2009.

  • April 13 , Easter Monday
  • May 8 , Prayer Day
  • May 21 , Ascension Day

  • June 1, Whit Monday
  • June 5, Constitution Day
  • July 3, Independence Day
  • September 7 , Labor Day
  • October 12 , Columbus Day
  • November 11, Veterans Day
  • November 26, Thanksgiving Day
  • December 24, Christmas Eve
  • December 25, Christmas Day  
  • December 31, New Year's Eve (½ day)
