Day 1 - From Nakskov to Maribo

Today was the opening day of the ReDiscovery Tour around Denmark. On the first day Ambassador Cain rode his bike from Nakskov to Maribo stopping at interesting sites along the way.

The day started in Nakskov at the Nakskov Recycling Station. On the site, Ambassador Cain saw the only hydrogen community test facility in the world. He also saw how Nakskov recycles upwards of 80% of all their waste in one way or another. He then visited Vestas Blades - factory that makes wings for wind mills. After having seen the production of wind mills it was time for Ambassador Cain to enjoy the view from the top of one. Ambassador Cain climbed 250 steps to the top of a Vestas test wind mill situated just south of Nakskov. While at the wind mill test area, Ambassador Cain was interviewed about The ReDiscovery Tour by national TV-stations DR1 and TV2 News.

After the interviews Ambassador Cain along with the mayor of Lolland Municipality Stig Vestergaard and Deputy Mayor Jytte Frijs and a number of other co-riders biked up to the Reventlow Museum at Pederstrup. At the museum, which celebrates DCF Reventlow who reformed Danish agriculture and society in the late 1700's, Ambassador Cain and co-riders had lunch.

From there the tour went on through the northern part of Lolland, visiting Thomas Kadziola's LandArt project in Horslunde, Birket Church, and Knuthenborg Estate and Safari Park.

The day ended in Maribo where Ambassador Cain was welcomed by Mayor Stig Vestergaard and Maribo Borgervæbning (marching band). The Ambassador spent the night at Engestofte a few kilometers from Maribo.
