Day 5 - From Roskilde to Hillerød
On August 29 Ambassador Cain rode from Roskilde to Hillerød in the northern part of Zealand. In Roskilde he visited Roskilde Language Center - a center that teaches newly arrived immigrants Danish language and culture. After that he visited the new part of Roskilde called Trekroner (Three Crowns), an entirely new part of the town based on new principles of city planning incorporating art. In Trekroner he visited the new school in Trekroner and had an interesting conversation with 7th grade students there. On the way from the Language Center to Trekroner Ambassador Cain briefly stopped at the fleamarket in Roskilde to talk to the people there about the US.
From Trekroner Ambassador Cain took the scenic route to Hillerød going through smaller towns like Veksø, Ganløse and Lynge. On the route he saw several examples of American culture in Denmark e.g. classic American cars and the Drive In movie theater in Lynge. The day stopped in front of Frederiksborg Slot in Hillerød at around 4:00 the afternoon.
The ReDiscovery tour continued in Hillerød on September 10.
