Transit Visas & Crew Members (C1/D)

This visa category is issued to individuals whose services are required for normal operation and service on board a vessel or individuals traveling in immediate and/or continuous transit through the U.S.

Aliens employed on the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) require a B1 visa and a U.S. Coast Guard letter of exemption for the vessel. Applicants must bring the exemption letter to their visa interview.

In addition to the items listed on the visa application check-list, applicants applying for a crew member and transit visa must bring the following to their visa interview:
