The Power of Sports: Ambassador Cain Speaks to SISU Basketball Club

On October 24 Ambassador Cain spoke to players, coaches, management, and business supports of SISU Basketball Club, one of the largest basketball clubs in Denmark, about the power of sports to bring people together. The purpose of the dinner was for SISU to inaugurate a business club to support club activities, including those that promote social responsibility and building role models through sports.
Ambassador Cain spoke about his experiences in developing the Hurricanes professional hockey team in North Carolina and the U.S. Embassy's sports diplomacy initiatives, including the Embassy's collaboration with the GAM3 street basketball program in Denmark. He also congratulated SISU on it's own initiative this past summer in bringing a number of children living at the asylum center in Sandholm to play basketball with SISU coaches and players in Gentofte.
