Ambassador Cain Visits Greenland

Nuuk, Ilulissat and Kangarlussuaq
May 8-12, 2006

Ambassador Cain and Mrs. Cain visited Greenland May 8-12. Ambassador Cain met with senior political leaders in Nuuk to discuss ongoing efforts to broaden and deepen relations between the United States and Greenland. He also engaged in wide-ranging dialogue sessions with university students and the Nuuk Rotary Club and gave interviews to the local media.

In Ilulissat, the Ambassador met with local leaders and toured the ice fjord there, a UN-designated World Heritage Park Site. In Kangarlussuaq, the 109th New York State Air National Guard briefed the Ambassador on their summer work in support of U.S.-funded scientific research on the Greenland ice cap.
