U.S. Embassy Representative Lays Wreath at Mindelunden
Ryvangen, North of Copenhagen
May 4, 2006
Lt. Col. Michael Schleicher, Army Attaché at the U.S. Embassy, laid a wreath at the memorial site "Mindelunden" in celebration of Denmark's liberation from German occupation in 1945.
"Mindelunden" was where members of the Danish Resistance found 202 Danes executed and buried by the Germans. Every year a ceremony is held at "Mindelunden" to celebrate Denmark's liberation and to pay tribute to members of the Resistance and soldiers who made sacrifices for Denmark's liberation.
