During a day of meetings with Danish law enforcement officials, FBI Director Robert Mueller spoke to reporters from TV2 and the Danish national wire service Ritzau on September 21.
Director Mueller described the close cooperation between his agency and both the Danish Police Intelligence Service (PET) and Danish National Police. He stressed the critical importance of such international cooperation in a world in which terrorism and other criminal activity has become increasingly transnational. In this connection, Director Mueller pointed to the role of the internet in recruiting potential terrorists and the ease with which terrorists and other criminals cross national borders.
