After having started their tour with a cup of tea at a local café stall, Ambassador Fulton and Mayor Wammen went on to visit the many colorful stands where they were delighted by the variety and diversity of the products on sale. The Ambassador’s visit to Bazar Vest was specially scheduled to allow her to meet with some of Aarhus’ vibrant immigrant community. Speaking to the press, Ambassador Fulton said: “Bazar Vest is a fine example of entrepreneurship and drive, and as such, illustrates the innovation and dynamism that new Danes can bring to their society.” She added that she was particularly happy to meet with Aarhus’ stallholders as President Obama has highlighted entrepreneurship as a cornerstone of his foreign policy objectives.
Following the stopover at Bazar Vest, Ambassador Fulton visited Aarhus University where she spoke to students and faculty members.
