GAM3: Urban Street Basketball Challenge
May - August, 2006
For four months in the summer, young people gather once a week at designated housing development playgrounds, called GAM3 Zones, to learn and practice the basics of street basketball. In the program’s second phase, GAM3 (pronounced "Game") takes its show on the road to six selected zones, with an event called Street GAM3 which consists of a full-day of training activities, live music and healthy living workshops.
The summer culminates in the third and final component, called GAM3 Finals, which consists of a tournament, a slam dunk contest, and renowned hip hop entertainers.
The program is co-sponsored by the Danish Government, local governments and private companies. Embassy Copenhagen is proud to be associated with the urban street basketball program.
