I-130 Petition Filing on Behalf of a Spouse (Husband or Wife),
Minor Child, or Parent of a U.S. Citizen.



WHERE TO FILE THE PETITION (FORM I-130)

The American Embassy in Copenhagen accepts I-130 petitions filed on behalf of an immediate relative (spouse, minor child, or parent) by an American Citizen who has been continuously, legally resident in Denmark for at least the six months prior to petition filing. American citizens, who are in Denmark on a temporary status, such as student or tourist status, do not meet the residency requirements and may not file a petition in Copenhagen.

All permanent residents of the U.S. ("green card" holders) and American citizens resident in the United States (or with a permanent address in the United States) will file I-130 petitions at the USCIS service center in the United States having jurisdiction over their place of residence.
