Non-Immigrant Visas

Nonimmigrant MRV Fee

The application fee is U.S. $131 . Effective January 1, 2008, the visa MRV fee is 700 DKK* (the equivalent of $131 at the prevailing exchange rate).

This fee must be paid BEFORE the applicant arrives to the Embassy for their scheduled interview. Any applicant who fails to make payment before their scheduled appointment time will forfeit the appointment and must rebook a new appointment on the internet.

The 700 DKK application fee must be paid at any Jyske Bank branch in Denmark into the US Embassy Account: Reg. No. 5013, account number 200200-2.

Payment by Internet banking or bank-to-bank transfer is not acceptable. Please note that no refunds will be made for any fees that are transferred incorrectly.

The application fee is non-refundable; no refund will be made if the visa is denied or if the applicant decides not to pursue an application. The original fee receipt must be presented when the visa application is submitted at the Embassy.

Only applicants for A-1, A-2, A-3, G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4, G-5, C-3, NATO, and U.S. Government-sponsored visas are exempt from the application fee.

*Applicants who paid the prior DKK 600 application fee before January 1 will be processed only if they are scheduled and appear for a visa interview before January 31. Applicants who paid the prior DKK 600 application fee and appear for visa interviews after January 31, 2008 must pay the difference -- DKK 100 -- before they will be interviewed.

Visa Reciprocity Fees

Applicants from certain countries that charge U.S. citizens special fees for visas may be required to pay an additional visa issuance/reciprocity fee. Please note that this issuance fee, unlike the processing fee, is not to be paid in advance. If you qualify for the visa, you will be asked to pay the fee to the consular cashier after your interview. Applicants may consult the U.S. Department of State’s Visa Reciprocity Fee table for more information.

SEVIS Fee (effective September 1, 2004)

Students applying for F or M visas with I-20 forms issued on or after September 1, 2004 must pay a SEVIS fee. This fee covers the cost of administering the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). This fee must be paid before the student applies for a visa. Derivative applicants (F-2 and M-2) do not have to pay a SEVIS fee. For further details and information on how to pay the fee click here.
